Here are a few of our rock styles for various use's.
As with every venture we begin, we always start with an analysis of the natural environmental needs of each particular oystercrete
rock and its intended use. Just as with nature, there are no two specific rocks that are identicle in their exact makeup, density,
design or actual needs, so we vary our rocks to match exactly what is needed for each project. Wether you just need a rock pile for
attracting fish and crustaceans, erosion control, fish habitat's or oyster reef's, we can build a rock for your needs wether aethetically
or for economics and commercial use.
This particular style of rock is designed to help break up longwave's and protect beache's and critical habitat from both natural and
artificial erosion. These pieces are created and sized for each specific need but the overall functional design is created to not completely
destroy longwave's but to redirect and actually use the wave's natural energy to help prevent erosion and actually help to restore the natural
presence as was originally laid out on our coast's by nature.
The natural ramp design actually redirects longwaves up and over the top of the rock, while the top back hollow helps to redistribute that
waves power into a usefull collection point and redistribute that energy towards sediment collection and buildup.
The rocks internal area is hollow to allow return current's and flows to still progress naturally along beach fronts and return water flows
to redirect back to the incoming wave's as they act naturally without deflection.
The largest private use that OysterCrete rocks have been used for is personal reef's. Wether it be fishing reef's or for scuba diving.
The fast growth rates and attachement rates of natural fauna have made these oystercrete reef's the most requested product we offer. They also
work great for larger public dive reef's or fishing santuraries as well.
By actully varying the size, style and design of rocks for a particular reef, we can actually build a reef that not only looks
more natural than artificial reef's but also can select specific species to target to homestead the new reef's and create rocks that are
adapted to be maintanable and be productfull in their specific location.
Just as in other parts of the US, these custom reefs are really gaining in popularity with fishermen creating their own fish habitat's as
we as individual's creating their own under-dock reefs.
Under dock reef's are a growing trend, because the normally unused area of water under your docks can actually be turned into a
mini fish haven and still be able to use and maintain your dock just as you normally would.
